I'm Still Alive

I'm pleased to dissapoint everyone and state for the record that I am still alive. Despite my doctor's best efforts at convincing me I'm eating myself into an early grave I still cling to this mortal coil and all those other euphanisms for being among the living.

Now then, since that's out of the way I can get on with the real important stuff. I have recently completed constructionThey are all on a veritable neighborhood of homes. They are all in the vein of the Spanish colonial/Hacienda/Villa/Pueblo/Mission/Santa Fe style, or as we call them around here: SouthWestern. Adobe, stucco, shallow roofs, and courtyards with fountains are the defining features of these homes. I am curently in the process of collecting and creating suitable furnishings for the homes which currently range from §30,000 to §200,000, prices which will increase significantly when the furniture and proper gardening is added.

In the meantime I have begun working on a Victorian neighborhood. I've become so frustrated with the other self-proclaimed Victorian homes available that I decided I would try to give it a shot. I'm therefore atempting to make representitive examples of each of the major Victorian-era styles, including Shingle, Eclectic, 2nd Empire, Gothic Revival, Queen Anne, Richardsonian Romanesque, and perhaps even the Folk and Italianate styles. The one hallmark shared by all of these styles is a tendency to be prettier than they need to be.

In semi-related news we are building a new layout and working on a massive update of our site. Be sure to check it out soon.

Ramblin' Man

It's been a pretty uneventful month this time around.

I have two new lots up at TSR, one of which is the winner of the TSR May Building Contest. The other is the red-brick mansion that I previewed here earlier.

After spending the better part of a day sifting through my lots I have discovered that I only have about 1/4th of what I've built uploaded anywhere. As such I'm taking a small break from actually building this month and getting those lots photographed and described so they can be published. I don't have any pics ready at the moment but the set includes several University lots ranging from small houses to opulent mansions, as well as a couple community lots and some campus buildings.

I've also finally packaged WooHooPalooza. Not the big heart-shaped novelty one but the original nightclub I made way back een before University. Unfortunately I don't have the base-game version available anymore, but I do have the most recent incarnation which has been transformed from a place where sims could go to public and/or hot-tub woohoo to a full fledged night spot/lingerie boutique/flower shop. Everything a romance sim needs under one roof, (except a bed ô_ô).

In other news, I have no other news. Well, OK, I do have a little bit of news, and oddly enough it involves the news. My little brother is a photographer (he says photojournalist, I say camera man) for one of our local T.V. stations. To make a long story short he shot the footage for a news series that just won the "National Edward R. Murrow Award."

G'night Y'all!

No particular place to go...

This is going to be my first entry using images so if I do something goofy I'll fix it later.

This quaint Victorian-style Carriage house would make a fabulous home for almost any sim, but...

It is only the garage of a magnificent estate.

I have much more to show but alas, the hands of time move inexorably forward.
